Graduated from University of NSW in 1983, Jane spent time in England working in Geriatrics and Psychiatry as well as General Medicine. She commenced in General Practice in 1990. She is interested in all aspects of family medicine especially Women’s Health, including antenatal care and contraception. She is trained in the insertion and removal of Implanon. Dr Lawrence also has an interest in Paediatrics, Geriatrics and Preventative Medicine. Jane provides a weekly visiting service to St Catherine’s Residential Aged Care facility and has an appointment as a visiting medical officer at Bathurst Private Hospital. Dr Lawrence is married to Dr Bruce McGarity, one of our local Consultant Physicians, and they have four daughters. She inserts implanon, mirenas and copper IUCD’s. Patients are advised to book an appointment with another GP for matters unrelated to women’s health. Dr Avinash graduated in India and then trained in the UK in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Cardiology/Critical Care and gained full registration with the General Medicine Council of the UK in 2000. Dr Monica Gaur is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, FRACGP.
She graduated and trained as a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in India before moving to Australia in 2007.
She has worked extensively in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in various hospitals in Sydney including Westmead /Blacktown hospitals.
She has done Diploma of Child health from Children’ s hospital at Westmead. She has worked in Sexual Health Clinic at Westmead hospital.
She has interest in all aspects of General Practice with particular interest in Women’s health including Menopause, Sexual health, Adolescent health, Mental health, Preventive health.
She provides preconception counselling, Antenatal care, Contraception including Implanon insertion.
She is trained to be a HIV s100 Prescriber to prescribe HIV medications in community including PrEP/PEP and managing patients.
She can treat and manage Hepatitis C patients, in association with the local Liver clinic at hospital.
She has interest in Sexual health and Transgender health. She can perform minor skin cancer surgeries.
She has settled in Bathurst with her family since she moved in 2015 In addition to English, she can speak fluent Hindi. She is involved in GP registrar training as a CTV visitor /PEP assessment and is an examiner for RACGP exams.

Sarah was born and lived in Bathurst until finishing high school and moving away to Sydney to study Medical Science followed by Medicine at The University of Sydney.
She completed her hospital training in Canberra and then moved into General Practice training in Queanbeyan NSW, followed by Katherine in the Northern Territory.
She is a fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine with advanced skills training in Adult Internal Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

Dr Marcus Hayward grew up in Sydney. He studied a Bachelor of Science focusing on genetics and immunology, then worked in research before returning to study medicine. He completed his initial medical training at Concord and Canterbury Hospitals, where he gained experience in various areas including Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Palliative Care. Marcus made the tree-change to Bathurst with his family in 2018. He has a broad range of clinical interests, with additional qualifications in Child Health and Skin Cancer Medicine. Dr Farah Ibraheem graduated from college of medicine/ Baghdad university in 2010. She worked in different medical and surgical departments as well as in O&G and paediatrics. She worked in primary health care before moving to Australia with her family. She started her GP training in rural NSW / Mid western region before moving to Bathurst earlier this year.
Dr Ibraheem has interest in managing chronic medical conditions, O&G and preventive medicine.

Dr Denzil Oo - MBBS
Dr Oo started his medical career in Australia as Resident Medical Officer at Hervey Bay Hospital in 2018 before moving to Sydney in 2019. He worked in different medical and surgical departments as well as in O&G, Paediatrics and mental health. He grew up in Yangon, Myanmar and obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree in 2007. He has also completed Diploma in Child Health through Sydney’s Children Hospital Network and the University of Sydney. Dr Oo started his GP training in rural Western NSW region before moving to Bathurst earlier this year. He enjoys all aspects of General Practice and has a broad range of clinical interests. Dr Oo has particular interest in Chronic medical conditions, Sports Medicine, Dermatology and preventative Medicine. Denzil speaks English fluently as well as Burmese. Dr Oo is currently undertaking the Australian General Practice Training Program in order to gain the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Judy Xu - GP Registrar
About: Dr Judy Xu grew up in Sydney and completed an undergraduate medical degree at The University of New South Wales. After graduating, she underwent junior doctor training at The Wollongong Hospital where she completed rotations in medical specialties, surgery, emergency and paediatrics. She has now moved to Bathurst to start general practice training and is currently a registrar in the Australian General Practice Training Program. She enjoys the diversity of general practice and values the patient-doctor relationship. She is currently completing a Diploma in Child Health through the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network and Western Sydney University. In her spare time, Dr Judy loves to sing, bake and spend quality time with loved ones. Judy is currently undertaking the Australian General Practice Training Program in order to gain the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Shruti Sarkar - GP Registrar
Dr Shruti has over ten years of experience in hospital and general practice settings in Australia and Bangladesh.
Shruti has worked recently in Molong and Oberon, before commencing her most recent training post in Bathurst.
Her diverse medical experience includes extended skills training in emergency medicine at Blacktown/Mt Druitt Hospital and a year with the National Home Doctor Service under the AMDS program. Adding to her qualifications, she completed the Sydney Child Health Program in 2020. Shruti is proficient in managing a wide array of acute and chronic health conditions, from paediatrics to aged care, and is particularly skilled in emergency and family health planning.
Shruti is passionate about building strong patient relationships and providing culturally sensitive care.
Consultations are available in English, Bengali and Hindi with Dr Shruti.

Dr Mia Yu - GP Registrar
Dr. Yu earned her Doctor of Medicine and Bachelor of Medical Studies from the University of New South Wales in 2018. She undertook internship and residency in Hunter New England Local Health District. She was then trained in ICU in Newcastle and Sydney areas.
Dr. Yu enjoyed teaching and was accredited as Conjoint Teaching Fellow by the University of Newcastle. Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Yu has been heavily involved in medical research, with multiple publications and presentations at prestigious conferences.
In her spare time Dr. Yu enjoys travelling and spending time with family. She is available for consultations in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
